The headquarters of Ecobank was on Tuesday engulfed by fire.
The bank headquarters, where the incident occurred, is located in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Details of the incident remain sketchy as at press time.
Adesina Tiamiyu, General Manager of Lagos emergency agency, could not be immediately reached Tuesday morning.
On its Twitter handle, the bank however said that officials of the fire service had responded to emergency calls, putting the situation under control .
Tweeting through its official handle, @Ecobank_nigeria, it said, “Officers of the Federal and Lagos State Fire Service are here. Everything is under control. We appreciate your concern.”
The bank said the fire was caused by a “diesel tanker,” and that it had been curtailed with business going on as usual. It thanked everyone who helped put out the fire.
