THE Board of Directors of Nigerian Breweries Plc has  declared an interim dividend of N7.929 billion, that is N1.00 (One Naira) per ordinary share of 50 kobo in the share capital of the company for the nine month period ended 30th September 2016. This is despite the marginal decline in the company’s profit for theperiod occasioned by the current challenging environment. This was revealed in a corporate filing of the company’s results at the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE.The statement signed byits Company Secretary/Legal Adviser,Mr. Uaboi Agbebaku, shows a four percent year-on-year rise in the revenue from N214. 92 billion in 2015, to N222.72 billion. However, its operating profit declined by 11 per cent from the N42.766 billion to N37.962 billion, a situation the company attributed to higher input costs as a result ofrising inflation combined with the devaluation of the Naira. YOU know Uber, the  technology company that has  revolutionised taxi business the world over is partnering First Bank of Nigeria Plc to empower drivers through vehicle financing scheme.   Uber Nigeria’s General Manager, Ebi Atawodi, disclosed that   under the scheme First Bank will extend a N2.5 million loan ($7,930) to each qualified driver for the purchase of a second-hand car at an interest rate of 20 percent and repayable after two years, she said. To qualify for the loan, the driver will need to  demonstrate an average driver-performance rating of higher than 4.5 and have earned more than 2.4 million naira in the past six months. This scheme will allow drivers to access used-car loans from an interest rate of just 20%per annum over a 24 month repayment period. Alternative offers for used-vehicle finance on the Uber Vehicle Solutions Programme will attract 22% per annum, with a maximum repayment term of 36 months. The Supreme Court on Monday in Abuja struck out two motions brought by Chris Giwa and his group. Ademola Olajire, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) spokesman, made this known in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja. Chris Giwa Olajire said the motion by Giwa sought to stay the execution of the ruling of the Court of Appeal barring Oba Maduabuchi from appearing before it on behalf of Giwa and his group. He also sought to stay the execution of the judgment of the same court vacating the orders of the Federal High Court relisting the case and restoring the orders. Th proprietor of Giwa FC of Jos, has been in court against Nigeria football federation in the past 28 months. He had also lost at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland. Awka (Anambra) – The Deputy Governor of Anambra, Mr Nkem Okeke, has said that the state is expecting to produce 300, 000 tonnes of rice between now and early 2017. Okeke made the disclosure when he received the World Bank/Federal Government joint supervision team  in hisoffice in Awka on Monday. According to him, the state is targetting 210, 000  tonnes of rice before the end of 2016. Scrolling through a facebook group i recently joined i came across this photo. Reports according to Magazine Independente, doctors are now assessing the baby to see if the child can be operated upon. The baby, whose sex was not given, was born in Manica Province. “The mother had a normal birth and was not suspicious of anything during the gestation period,”said the magazine, which is published in Portuguese.
